Dolpo, a land beyond the Himalayas, conjures up visions of mysterious

Dolpo. The name resonates with the slap of a prayer flag, the snort of a yak, the echo distance. Dolpo, a wild and mysterious land of seemingly barren, uncolored hills and the romance of high places. The highest inhabited land on earth, Dolpo is where the elusive snow leopard moves as soundless as a shadow, where small herds of bharal drift on forgotten hillsides. Remote and romantic, it has no major 8000m summit to entice with vertical adventures, but those who are drawn by its mystery are changed forever, for after a single visit this ancient back-of-beyond has a way of haunting one's dreams with a demand to return.
