Mt Makalu is the fifth highest peak in the world so many trekkers would like to venture deep into the high Himalaya. This trek passes through Arun and Barun river lead to the Makalu base camp exploring verity of flora, fauna and geographic diversity. The Makalu base camp trek is adventurous the picturesque beauty of the surroundings keeps the trekkers fresh and tireless. This trek located in Makalu Barun National park which is established in 1992 AD. This trek starts from Tumlingtar, passes through Arun river valley and then continue to Num base camp. Crossing after Shipton La 4125m we reach Kalo Pokhari, Barun river valley and get the close view of Makalu mountain an altitude of 5150m and also Chamlang Himal. 

Barun National park with the dense rhododendron forest host 3000 species of flowering plants, 440 species of birds, 75 species of mammals such as snow leopard, red Panda, Musk Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Yak, Himalayan Thar etc. Similarly, the local famous communities of Ethnic group Limbu, Rai, Sherpa, Bhotia among them many respected Everest, Makalu and more mountain climbers.

Day 04: Trek Sedwal to Tashi Gaun 2070m - 5 hrs

Day 05: Trek Tashi Gaun to Kauma 3470m - 6 hrs

Day 06: Rest Day

Day 07: Trek Kauma to Mumbak 3570m - 5 hrs

Day 08: Trek Mumbak to Neha Kharka 3000m - 6hrs

Day 09: Trek Neha Kharka to Sherson 4615m - 7 hrs

Day 10: Trek Sherson to Makalu Base camp 5000m - 5 hrs

Day 11: Explore Makalu Base Camp

Day 12: Trek Makalu Base Camp to Yangri Kharka: 6-7 hours

Day 13: Tre Yangri Kharka to Dobate: 6-7 hours

Day 14: Trek Dobate to Khongma Danda: 5-6 hours

Day 15: Trek Khongma Danda to Tashigaon: 4-5 hours

Day 16: Trek Tashigaon to Seduwa: 4-5 hours

Day 17: Trek Seduwa to Num: 5-6 hours

Day 18: Trek Num to Tumlingtar: 6-7 hours

Day 19: Fly Tumlingtar to Kathmandu: 50 mins flight, transfer to hotel.
